Cooperative Reading

For studies that have more progression and self-study, without losing the spirit of study we adhere to in our workshops, we have started a "cooperative reading program", where we meet once a week to discuss our slow and careful readings of certain books.

We have chosen a very well written book about basic algebra, written by Prof. I. M. Gelfand, who spent a long portion of his life teaching and understanding the importance of accessible presentations of mathematical topics. This book begins with very basic ideas, but dwells on them and shows their significance and depth. As the book progresses, it reaches some quite advanced topics and relates algebra to many other fields inside and outside of mathematics.

We are currently not holding our cooperative reading meetings
